Sinkakwenza Ndawonye Program

The Durban university of technology, Department of Civil Engineering, creates experiential learning opportunities for students to enable them to fulfill the requirements for their qualification.

The department devised an innovative program,  which provides students with a variety of quality work experience, teaches students good contact with a number of prospective employers and facilitates opportunities for the students to obtain the practical experience necessary to complete their qualifications.

In November 2005, the Durban office of Vela VKE partnered with DUT and continues to actively assist with the professional development of students on the Singakwenza Ndawonye  program.

A number of students are currently being mentored in the different divisions within the Durban office of Vela VKE. The students are Nkululeko Khumalo in the implementation division, Vincent Malimela and Nkosinathi Mnengela in the structures division, Mduduzi Kunene and Wesson Reid in the development division.
